The Holiday Season is in full swing! This is my favorite time of year and I love everything about the holidays … spending time with family & friends, enjoying traditions & creating new ones, festive lights & holiday music, hitting the slopes & drinking hot chocolate by the fire. The only thing I don’t love is that every holiday party rsvp “yes” means less sleep for me. I am very fair-skinned and I jokingly call the skin under my eyes “translucent.” So when I don’t get my 8 hours of beauty sleep the skin around my eyes shows it – in the form of deep, dark circles that are a stark contrast to my light skin.
To combat my tired-eye issue I never skip my nightly skincare routine before heading to bed. No matter how exhausted I am, I wash my face and apply our ANTI-AGE Multi-Function Eye Cream. This product won me over when I saw a noticeable difference in the appearance of the fine lines around my eyes after one week of use! The powerful peptides also carry the added benefit of reducing the appearance of my dark under-eye circles – love! Living in San Francisco allows me to successfully avoid most of the seasons. Although we don’t have freezing winters, or blistering summers, we do have micro-climates that can change from one neighborhood to the next. On my way to work I can start off in the moist cold fog, and end with a cloudless sunny sky … and these changes take a toll on my already sensitive skin. For me the SOOTHE Regimen is a life saver. I have tried what feels like a million moisturizers and calming creams, but from the first time I tried SOOTHE, I was hooked. My skin has never been healthier or felt better.

One problem solved … another one created. I never get manicures because the polish starts to chip in what seems like a manner of minutes. Enter gel manicures and neatly polished nails that last for two weeks; problem solved! But then I started thinking, as my nails are curing under intense UV light for a cumulative total of 10 minutes, what’s happening to my skin? What can I say; I’m a 24-year-old born and raised Southern California beach girl. Having never been but a 10 minute drive away, the beach was my second home growing up. I would wear sunscreen on occasion but if I forgot, no big deal. I thought, “If I burn I’ll just use Aloe Vera and my skin will be healed, no damage done, right?” Years later, as I’ve gotten older and wiser, I’ve learned just how wrong I was. And if knowledge weren’t enough, I’ve even noticed bunches of freckles around my nose and cheeks. For a while I started to become really depressed thinking there was nothing I could do about it … that maybe I should have just listened to my parents and worn more sunscreen.
Luckily, when I started working at Rodan + Fields® three months ago I learned that it’s never too late to protect your skin. When I found out about the REVERSE Regimen and that it could help sun damaged skin, I had to try it. I have been using it for the past two months religiously and it has changed my life. My face not only feels more moisturized but what do you know, my freckles have been disappearing—no joke! Ever since I can remember I have struggled with acne and breakouts. Since adult acne is something that runs in my family, I have heard every old wives’ tale ever conceived for the cause of the problem. I have been to the dermatologist, experimented with every product advertised at 12 a.m. on the home shopping network, even a home remedy my grandmother cooked up that involved oatmeal and lemon juice (I’ll spare you the details on how that turned out!) But I was never able to find a routine that addressed all the problems of the acne cycle while also addressing sun damage and age prevention at the same time. That is until I came to work for Rodan + Fields. I use a combination of UNBLEMISH, REVERSE and ANTI-AGE Regimens both in the morning and at night. Since my face is a certified oil factory and by 11 a.m. I look as if I have been attacked by the Exxon Valdez corporation, I can be seen throughout the day periodically applying the UNBLEMISH Blot Papers to my face. The blot papers are such a wonderful product to help with excess oil without smearing your foundation. It has been such a relief to find a combination of products that work with my problematic skin and I look forward to any new formulations the Doctors come up with!

Ever since adolescence I have been religious in my morning and evening skincare routines, never failing to wash my face and apply the appropriate products to actively defend against breakouts. As a Rodan + Fields Corporate team member I know I should not admit that I also have a history of being a sun-worshipper, and while I always have used some degree of sun protection on my face from various types of makeup, I unfortunately have had a turbulent relationship with full-coverage facial sunscreens. In my past I have always been anxious to use most products on my face for fear that they will make me very oily or worse—lead to breakouts! As I’ve transitioned into my early 20s I know that my skin has transitioned and will continue to change more and more. I realize the importance of ALWAYS having sunscreen on—especially when it comes to preventing aging and wrinkles on my face! I have reformed my relationship with my changing skin. This transition has brought me to my new love: UNBLEMISH Oil Control Lotion SPF 20. This lightweight lotion that includes an SPF is the first sunscreen that I feel safe putting on my temperamental combination skin. What a relief! Now I don’t have to think twice about how to protect my face from the sun’s rays and feel comfortable that I won’t break out or get oily. Next step: graduating to a higher SPF!

As a member of the Rodan + Fields corporate team, I probably shouldn’t say this, but I haven’t always been great about protecting my skin from the sun. In fact, as a resident of Georgia and avid outdoor enthusiast, I’ve gotten more than my fair share of sun damage.
But as I’ve learned in the past month since joining Rodan + Fields, it’s never too late to start. I now use ANTI-AGE Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30 every morning, especially when I’m gearing up for a long day outside. And although I never thought I would say this, I have started noticing a difference in my skin.
Lesson learned and I’m now trying to impart this wisdom on my 9-year-old daughter. She just started using ESSENTIALS UVA/UVB SPF 30 and SPF 30 Body Sunscreen. I’m glad she’s getting into the habit of applying sunscreen now, so she can have better skin than her old man someday.

I have always been religious about facial skincare ever since I can remember. It never occurred to me until a few years ago to take care of the rest of my body too.

As anyone who’s met me knows (or can see with my picture), when it comes to sun protection, I take my mom’s advice to heart! Literally, I’m so pale that when Twilight came out I had a hard time telling the vampires apart from the humans … their pale skin didn’t look so different from what I see in the mirror every morning.
But all joking aside, I take pride in protecting my skin, knowing that this simple step every morning will help me age as naturally and gracefully as possible. And that’s why I was beyond excited for this month’s launch of the REVERSE Environmental Shield SPF 55. Never before had I found a SPF formulation over 30 that felt so great on my skin … it’s lightweight, smells fantastic and has all the right ingredients to protect against those UVA and UVB rays that I fear so much. And on top of that, it brightens my skin—what more could you want from one product?

As the Doctors say: everybody ages all the time! Does this mean that even a 20-something-year-old should be treating fine lines and wrinkles? Oh yes! Working at Rodan + Fields, I am well aware that time marches on … right across your face. And thanks to our new generation of perfectionists, I am one of those 20-something-year-olds that goes to the gym every day. But the gym doesn’t help remove the aging effects of time; that’s why I rely on the ANTI-AGE Regimen to take care of that.
I use it at night since I still need to take care of some blemishes, which I do first thing in the day. My favorite product (right now) is the ANTI-AGE Overnight Restorative Cream. Every night after applying the Daily Cleansing Mask in the shower, I apply the Pore Minimizing Toner and I already cannot wait to lather the Overnight Restorative Cream all over my face. It simply makes my skin feel moisturized after the shower and also fresh and firm. I have been doing this routine every night since October and I feel my skin getting smoother and it looks young with fewer lines than before. I am now prepared to face the future with completely beautiful and young-looking skin.
