Did you know … As you look ahead, it’s critical to appreciate how far you’ve come?

DermRF_Categories_DidKnowWhile creating our list of New Year’s Resolutions demonstrates our hopes for a great New Year, it can also lead to feelings of inadequacy and depression. This is not surprising, considering we are making a list of all the things about ourselves we want to change. Balance your list of resolutions by also creating a list of “wins” you’ve achieved in 2013.

Acknowledging your achievements is especially important when it comes to your skincare goals. Changes happen over time and can be subtle. The best way to track your progress is by taking “before and after” photos. It’s amazing how small changes can go unnoticed until you compare them to your baseline. Stay consistent with your skincare and remember that your skin conditions didn’t develop overnight. It will take time to see real results.

This holiday season, take time to appreciate the good behaviors you’ve developed for your skin—and the ongoing results for which you have only yourself to thank.

Great advice and so true! I am now starting a list of things I want to improve in 2014 and I will apply your suggestion to remind myself of all the great things I accomplished this year. One of them happened to be to re-align myself inside the beauty industry. As an Aesthetician and Makeup artist, it feels great to share apply my skills and knowledge about a good skin care regimen, inner & outer beauty and health. I’m excited to start sharing Rodan & Fields products!

Happy Holidays ~ and a Wonederful New Year!
